Parent Commitment

If you are a parent who desires to publicly express your intention to bring up your child in the discipline and instruction of the Lord, please fill out the form below. Our church would sincerely like to support you with prayer and encouragement in this godly endeavor.

We believe that the most common means that God uses to grant salvation to his people is Christian parents. When God blesses our church with children, we see them as a blessing (not a burden!) and our goal in raising them is to glorify our King. We want to raise children that are like arrows in the hand of a warrior (Ps. 127:3-5).

Parent Commitment is a brief ceremony led by one of our elders that invites parents to honor the Lord by publicly committing to raise their children in a distinctively Christian home. Parents are asked about their intentions, mothers and fathers are each given a pastoral charge, and the children are prayed over by the gathered church. After the ceremony, there is an opportunity for a few photos if you’d like. They don’t stay this cute forever.

After you submit the form, we will get back to you soon about scheduling. Our practice is to have Parent Commitment immediately following our worship service on particular Sundays. If you have any questions, email L.J. Decker.
